The French and Indian War • The clamming of Ohio river valley by the British and French is what started the war. • The war started in 1754 and lasted almost 10 years. • The Native Americans teamed with French because the French treated Native Americans well.
Proclamation of 1763 • The proclamation kept the colonist from moving west or northwest past the Appalachian Mountains. • The King was trying to protect the colonist by keeping the colonist from the Native Americans. • It made lots of colonist mad because they were excited to move west then the king just gives it back to the Natives.
The Quartering Act • This law was past when the French and Indian war ended to also protect them just in case the French or Indians came and attack the colonist.
The Stamp Act • This act made colonist pay tax on all paper products. • The tax helped the British pay debt that the British ganged during the French and Indian war. • The stamp act was repealed March 1765. • The colonist said that this law was taxation without representation.
The Boston Massacre • the Boston Massacre happened on March 5, 1770. • 3 died 8 injured 2 died later on. • A mob of people were throwing snow, stones, and stick at a soldiers. Then the soldier called more soldiers in. The captain said don’t fire and one of them thought he said fire so he fired.
The Boston Tea Party • This was on December 16, 1773 • A group of men dressed up as Mohawk “Indians” Native Americans • They boarded the ships and slip the boxes and pored 90,000 pounds of tea into the harbor.
