CITIZENS FOR THE WORLD Martha Nussbaum We increasinglytreateducation as thoughitsprimary goal weretoteachstudentstobeeconomicallyproductiveratherthantothinkcriticallyandbecomeknowledgeableandempatheticcitizens. Thisshortsighted focus on profitable skills has erodedourabilitytocriticizeauthority, reducedoursympathywith the marginalizedand different, anddamagedourcompetenceto deal with complex globalproblems. And the loss of these basic capacitiesjeopardizes the health of democraciesand the hope of a decent world.

DIFFERENTIATIE IN/VAN DE OPLEIDINGEN • Niet elke opleiding op dezelfde manier invullen • Specifieke opleidingen met internationale competenties in de domeinspecifieke en beroepspecifieke competenties • In meer of mindere mate • Voorbeeld: European Studies, Taalopleidingen, enz. • Opleidingen waarbij de internationale competentie behoort tot de generische competentiescluster
