Planner Every student at HHMS is given a planner at the beginning of the school year. This is a very important tool for communication. I will put a copy of the planner on the overhead at the beginning of each week. It will show what we will cover including homework, upcoming tests, quizzes and big projects.
Daily Objectives In addition to putting the weekly plans on the overhead planner, I have a spot on the white board where a student can look upon entering my class room.
Sample Day Bell ringer Go over homework Teach new material Time for homework
Curriculum In Honors English class we will study grammar, vocabulary, literature, and writing based upon the Indiana Academic Standards and the Common Core Standards. We also will have a mystery theme throughout the year and will be reading and writing mysteries.
Homework 1. Assignments for each class are to be written in their planners daily. 2. Homework must be completed. Safety Net and Lunch Time Detention may be assigned for missing or late work.
Homework cont. Daily assignments are put on Mrs. May’s web page on the school website. Click on Teachers to find it at http://hhms.nafcs.k12.in.us/
