  1. Science: Reflection on Making simple machines By: OkkarHtin, Rose, Shwe Hmon, Hnin Ei (8A)

  2. Purpose • We worked on two different projects and made two different machines. • #1: Robot Arm-Can pick up water bottles • #2: Suspension Bridge- Represents shifting of bridge to allow ships to pass through

  3. Design & Mechanisms Involved (#1) • Materials used: Popsicle sticks, syringes, pipe, water, wires, duct tape, rubber bands, fasteners, glue, cardboard • 3 different syringes powering 3 different movable joints

  4. Design & Mechanisms Involved (#2) • Materials used: Popsicle sticks, rubber bands, syringes, pipe, glue • Pressure of syringe being pulled back travels through pipe and pulls mobile part of bridge up

  5. Faults & Limitations • #1: Cannot grasp minuscule items nor items of a certain shape due to original design of exclusively carrying water bottles • #2: Unstable engineering at the vital joints of the bridge, may not move when demanded

  6. Possible Improvements • More visually appealing (generous but subtle use of glue, clean-cut joints and components) • Refined placement of joints and mechanisms (resulting in easier movement of joints)
