Questions/Main Ideas • AFTER you are done with notes… • Identify separate blocks or “chunks” of information within your notes (Sometimes you can do this as you are taking notes, if this is the case you can skip a line in between chunks) • Write a question for each chunk • Read underlined or highlighted words and write any recall cues in the left column (very brief phrases that will trigger ideas/facts recorded on the right) Note: These are in addition to your questions. • For example: If I was taking notes on when the Bush-Gore presidential election I might write in the left column “First election I voted in” to help me remember year, results, etc.
