  2. McKee Foods CorporationBackground • Founded by OD and Ruth McKee in 1934 • First bakery to produce individually wrapped cakes in a multipack carton • Little Debbie produces 75 varieties of snack cakes • Annual sales are approximately $930M • Five production facilities in three states

  3. Pre 11i Environment • HP K460 2GM, 3 processors, 140G disk space • 10.7 SC • Modules • General Ledger • Fixed Assets • Account Payables • Project Accounting • Eight years of historical data • Integrated with GEMMS application

  4. Financials History • Financials implemented in 1994 • Upgraded to 10.7 SC in 1997 • Project Accounting implemented in 1998 • Integrated with GEMMS in October 1999

  5. Project Timeline • Upgrade Assessment October 2001 -Boss Corporation & O’Reilly & Associates • Request for Proposal January 2002 • Project began February 4, 2002 • Moved to new server, upgrade OS and database on April 19, 2002 • Went live on 11i on May 1, 2002

  9. Test Environments • 10.7 on HPUX 11.0 • 10.7 on HPUX 11.0 and ORACLE 8.1.7.3 • Oracle Applications 11.5.5

  10. Test – Test and More Test • Each environment had to be tested • Decided to upgrade OS and Database together

  11. Status Meeting • Met weekly to discuss status and issues • Kept meetings to an hour or less • Issues requiring further discussion scheduled separately

  12. Lessons Learned • Status Meetings critical to success of project • Attendance at status meetings is a priority

  13. Future Plans • Gemms upgrading to OPM 11i • Maximo implementation w/ ORACLE invoicing • Implement purchasing • Web Reporting
