  2. Freedom of Speech Congress shall make no law…abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances. -First Amendment

  4. Searches and Seizures The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated. -Fourth Amendment

The Relationship Between Schools and Minors • Because every state in the union provides free public education to any minor, there is a whole body of law that has developed around the rights and responsibilities of students. There is also a body of law that has grown up around the rights and responsibilities of schools and their administrators.
