Saint Valentine'sDay It on the 14th of February. It is celebrated in many countries around the world, although it remains a working day in most of them. Is a traditional day for lovers, many people give cards , letters, flowers, chocolate or presents to their spouse or partner.
History 1: Lupercalia • Lupercus: god of crops and fertility Is an old roman celebration on the 15th of February, where unmarried people played a game. Women put their name on a paper in a big jar and each men drew a paper and spent the festival dancing with the woman he picked.
History 2: Saint Valentine In the 3rd century A.D the Roman Emperor Claudius II forbade marriages. Valentine was a Christian priest the that performed marriages in secret, for this reason he was caught and imprisonment. While he was in prison he fell in love with the jailer’s blind daughter with his abilities he cured her blindness. Before dying he sent her a letter singed: ``from your valentine´´. He died on February 14th
