STAG-LG STAG-LG is a key component of the Business-Friendly and Competitive LGUs (BFCL) that supports target local government units in preparing their communities by providing the necessary skilled workforce requirements of the business sector.
OBJECTIVE It aims to: • Improve the capability of LGUs to develop and manage sound and responsive workforce development programs that can harness individuals in the community resulting to job creation and employment generation; and • Contribute to sustained local economic development through workforce development and skills training
PROGRAM COMPONENTS 1. Workforce Development for LGUs • Organizing the team • Establishment of LEDIP Team / Office in the LGU that will be in-charge of investment promotions to attract investments and create more jobs • Private Sector partnership • Capacitating the team • Workforce Development planning • Formulation of LGU Business Plan • Development of job-matching system • Skills Registry • Business Sector Skills Requirements • Placement Tracking
2. Employment and Enterprise Skills Training Types of Training • Training for wage-employment – to be conducted in Technical Vocational Institutions (TVIs). After graduation, job-bridging activities shall be pursued to facilitate employment of qualified graduates • Training for self-employment – this shall cover modules on entrepreneurial skills development and provision of starter tool kits
TARGET LGUS A total of 158 LGUs from the following areas: • Prepared LGUs – LGSP-LED sites Batch 1, 2, 3 • Convergence Areas – TDAs in NBM 118
TARGET BENEFICIARIES 50 beneficiaries per LGUwith priority but not limited to the following sectors: • Graduates of the Conditional Cash Transfer • Out of School Youth • Unemployed men and women • People with disabilities
FUND REQUIREMENTS Php300,000,000is allocated for STAG-LG: • Php57,330,000for Capacity Building for LGUs (Governance) • Php237,000,000for Skills Training • Php 5,670,000 for Operations Cost *Php30,000 is the cost of skills training per trainee
TRAINING COST Scholarship Benefits a) The scholars shall be entitled to free training cost, assessment fee, and starter tool kits (for self-employment) b) Schedule of training costs are based on TESDA training cost

UPDATES • Drafted the following: • Guidelines in Implementing STAG-LG • MOA with TESDA for the Skills Training Component • Activity Design for National Orientation on STAG-LG • Conduct the following with the assistance of a Canadian Consultant: Study on the Bohol Skills Registry System and pre-test tool on Skills Needs Assessment in Northern Panay • Conduct orientation on STAG-LG in 2 batches
