  4. Native American Initiative Targeted Programs • Develop Government to Government Relationships • Fund Research Projects • Conduct Education Outreach Providing Petroleum Solutions Since 1918 00-10.3.1

  5. Native American Initiative • Accomplishments: • 13 resource development and environmental projects with Native American Tribes since 1933 • Presented results to the BIA meetings for the last 2 years 00-10.3.1

  6. Educational Activities • 11 Native American summer interns • 5 Broad Application Petroleum Workshops • Judge AISES Science Fair • Volunteers at the Native American Science Bowl • Request for a Workshop by individual groups

  7. Native American Initiative EDUCATION EFFORTS (during the past four years) • 6 petroleum targeted energy production workshops • 11 Native American student interns • Tulsa Adopt-A-School program with 14% Native American students 00-10.3.1

Advanced Resources International - Jicarilla Apache Reservation, NM • Goal to screen the unexplored Northern part of the reservation using remote sensing technology and existing well data • Partnered with Jicarilla Apache Tribe • DOE will provide $195K in federal funding for the 12 month project. ARI and the Jicarilla Apache will contribute $62K in cost sharing.

Fort Peck Assiniboine & Sioux Tribes Mineral/Resources Department - MT • Goal: use soil geochemistry, aeromagnetic, Landsat lineament, and 3-D seismic anomalies to locate potential oil reserves • relatively unexplored area adjacent to production • Partnered with GCRL Energy Ltd and consultants • DOE will provide $356K for the 24 month project. Fort Peck Tribes and GCRL Energy Ltd will contribute $103K in cost sharing.

  19. Golder Associates - Wind River Reservation, WY • Goal to Create a fully 3-D discrete fracture network (DFN) model for targeting the greatest potential for improved recovery • 159 million barrels of remaining oil • Partnered with Marathon Oil Company and the Eastern Shoshone and Northern Arapaho Tribes • DOE will provide $365K in federal funding for the 24 month project. Marathon will contribute $205K in cost sharing.

  20. 3-D Reservoir and Stochastic Fracture Network Modeling for Enhanced Oil Recovery, Circle Ridge Phosphoria/Tensleep Reservoir

Oil & Gas Consultants International - Osage Reservation, OK • Goal to develop and test a downhole vibration technology to stimulate production from a mature waterflooded field. • Partnered with Osage Tribe, Grand Resources, Inc, and Phillips Petroleum Co. • DOE will provide $525K in federal funding for the 16 month project. OGCI, Grand Resources and Phillips Petroleum will contribute $217K in cost sharing.

  22. Wind River Resources Corporation - Uintah & Ouray Reservation, UT • Goal to conduct a 3-D seismic survey to identify potential oil-bearing sandstone channel structures in the Hill Creek Extension Field • Partnered with Ute Indian Tribe • DOE will provide $500K in federal funding for the 19 month project. Wind River Resources will contribute $275K in cost sharing.
