Final collection, analysis and publication of standard earthquake information from all over the world. • Re-determine earthquake locations making use of all available information. • Search for new earthquakes, previously unidentified by individual agencies. • Compile the most accurate and most complete catalogue of earthquakes occurring around the globe. • Compile the most complete list of arrival times of seismic waves associated with each of the listed earthquakes. Main Objectives and Tasks of the ISC
Merged data from different agencies, improve azimuth coverage that possibly improve location accuracy. ISC Catalogue may also serve as a reference for assessing completeness
