  4. Developing the Video • Bid Process – Selected Avalanche Studios • Help with script • Found teenage talent & volunteer talent • Filmed and edited scenes • Produced artwork & graphics • Final product DVD • $14,500

  5. Pilot Test • Worked with 6 HS Driver Ed. Program • Tested students from two consecutive terms • 6 STR questions added to class final exam • 1st Term tested w/o STRWB video (n=401) • 2nd Term tested w STRWB video (n=370)

  6. Pilot Test – Group Comparison • 1st term scores vs. 2nd term scores • 2nd term students scored higher on all questions (overall average of 20% higher) • Smallest difference 4.28% • Largest difference 62.22%

  7. Teacher Feedback • 99% felt video will increase STR knowledge • 95% felt video will influence driving behavior • 95% will use video in classes • 93% will use supplemental materials in classes • 3% only do behind the wheel instruction
