What is a Noun? • A noun is the name of a person, place, or thing • Nouns name both living and nonliving things • 2 Kinds of Nouns: Concrete and Abstract • Concrete Nouns: you can see and touch them Examples: elephant, desk, pencil • Abstract Nouns: you cannot see or touch them Examples: strength, courage, justice
