Initial Goal • To develop strategies that better meet the needs of all students. • DIFFERENTIATED EDUCATION
CONCERNS • Meeting the needs of struggling students who are not served through Special Education. • Meeting the needs of advanced students who receive minimal challenge in the regular curriculum.
Plan • Action Research Peers Group. • Investigate methods successful schools are using to meet students’ needs. • Develop a list of options that are feasible for Oakwood Elementary.

Changing Focus • Primary Need: Helping students to develop basic skills. • Secondary Need: Supporting struggling students in the intermediate grades. • Important to focus on basic tools for learning: Reading, Writing, Math

Implementation • Group members plan to continue into an implementation phase. • Continue to work through the PEERS program. • Select and implement specific outcomes identified in initial phase.
