How SASD & Plymouth Purchase HOM • Work with AJ Produce (located in Sheboyan) • AJ Produce gives name of farm and history if available to schools • Work direct with the farmer when able (apples) – 3 bids needed • Farmer info is communicated with students via social media & on salad bars, menu • Use our school gardens when possible – this year growing beets, squash, mixed greens, and arugula (Plymouth) Fredonia, WI Log Cabin Orchard Plymouth, WI

LAKE ORCHARD FARMS AQUAPONICS • Located in Cleveland, WI (Just a few miles north of Sheboygan) • Aquaponics allows for produce to be grown year round ANYWHERE!
Aquaponics grows fish and plants together in one integrated system. The fish waste provides an organic food source for the growing plants and the plants provide a natural filter for the water the fish live in.
-Lake Orchard Farms is currently growing spinach, romaine, tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, and other specialty produce items -Working with Sheboygan Schools to provide some of these items for student meals
Fresh Fruit & Vegetable Program • 3 SASD Elementary Schools Participate • Fresh fruit or Vegetable provided for ALL students either in the morning or afternoon; sourced locally through AJ Produce • Nutrition Education provided for teachers to talk to kids
