GLCE: 7- H1.1.2 Compare and contrast several different calendar systems used in the past and present and their cultural significance (e.g., Sun Dial, Gregorian calendar- B.C./A.D.; contemporary secular – B.C.E./ C.E.; Chinese, Hebrew, and Islamic/Hijri calendars).
Why I Chose this GLCE I thought that this was an interesting topic that did not know much about. It is something that I barely remember talking about back in school.

The Tiger seems fierce, but those born in its year, Are sensitive souls showing love that’s sincere. A Rabbit is fast and its senses alert, Unafraid to take risks, even though it’s a squirt. Next is the Dragon, known for passion and fire, Well liked is this creature, someone others admire. Though it slithers around and is feared to bring harm, The Snake’s known for wisdom and oozing with charm. Chinese Calendar Poem The Rat was the winner in the Zodiac Race, By tricking the Ox and stealing first place. So it might make you gasp and say, “There’s no way! ” To hear that this rodent is known for Fair Play. And though it’s the sign of the one he out foxed, Strong leaders are born in the year of the Ox.
Next is the Dog who is faithful and true, known to give friendship the highest value. Finally the Pig, neither dirty nor dumb, He’s a witty companion, an excellent chum. And that is the order in which they appear, Each animal a stars once every twelve years. Then comes the Horse, a hard worker for sure, Both friendly and smart with the strength to endure. Warmhearted and honest and covered in wool, The sheep is an artist and very playful. The sign of the Monkey is for those that are known, To possess a sharp mind and a Strong funny bone. The Rooster is seen as a confident dude, For his senses are keen and his planning is shrewd.
