  2. 1) Real faith has a real relationship to Jesus Christ.

  3. For even His own brothers did not believe in Him. John 7:5

  4. They all joined together constantly in prayer, along with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers. Acts 1:14

  5. A) Called

  6. Jews demand miraculous signs and Greeks look for wisdom, but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. 1 Corinthians 1:22-24

  7. 1. God invites us into a relationship with Him. 2. We must receive His invitation.

  8. No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; John 6:44

  9. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name, John 1:12

  10. Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. John 3:18

  11. …how will we escape if we neglect so great a salvation? Hebrews 2:3

  12. B) Loved

  13. Jesus answered and said to him, "If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our abode with him. 24 "He who does not love Me does not keep My words;… John 14:23-24

  14. When we know He loves us we are free to trust Him.

  15. When we know He loves us and we trust Him, we will obey Him.

  16. C) Kept

  17. We know that no one who is born of God sins; but He who was born of God keeps him, and the evil one does not touch him. 1 John 5:18

  18. 2) A real faith enjoys the regular blessings of God

  19. 1. Mercy 2. Peace

  20. The world may point its finger at you and reject you, but God has accepted you. He loves you, and He wants to give you that peace so that at night you can pillow your head on God’s promises. J. Vernon McGee
