  6. Position Announcement After consideration by the NorthEast Regional Data Center Advisory Committee, it was agreed it is time to add a Student System Manager to the team. Position will be posted at www.esd101.net and advertised in the Spokesman-Review this weekend. • See the posting for additional details and timelines.

  7. Student Pac-to-Web Transition August 2012 is the twilight for PaC. As announced in NERDC Notes, the Skyward student PaC system will begin a phased transition to Skyward web. Web training is completed in several areas.

Student Pac-to-Web Transition • What to Expect After the Completion of Each Phase • Functionality in each area will be disabled in PaC. • The PaC buttons will be unavailable for these areas. • All data entry in these areas will be performed in Web Access. • There will be several phases to this project. Phase I and II have been determined. Watch for additional phases to be announced.

Student Pac-to-Web Transition • What can be done to prepare? • Encourage users to work in Web Access now. • Make sure to access Skyward Web through your local computer’s browser, not through Citrix. • Be sure users have security in these areas of Student Web Access. • No security changes will be needed in PaC Student Management. • Review the training documents posted on our website.www.esd101.net/nerdc • And access Skyward Help in Web Access.

  21. Activity Master Activities are entity specific. Activities are school year specific. Activities are identified with a unique Activity Code. To Add an Activity Use the Add button.

  22. Activity Master - Add Enter a unique Activity Code, a short and a long description. The Start and Stop dates need to include the dates an activity is being used. If the activity is being used with the Athletic Grading Bucket or for Grade Checks the ‘Use for Grading” must be set to Yes. Activity Leader and Contacts are used in conjunction with My Activities on the EA+ tab. These names must be in the Staff Table.

  23. Activity Master Edit or Delete After adding your new activity, review the information by expanding the activity with the ‘+’ on the left. The Edit and Delete buttons can be used to maintain the Activity.

  25. Activity Student Roster Adding Students In the left column, check the students you are adding. When finished use the Save button to save the activity roster. Don’t forget to use the Filter Options and/or the Quick Filter to isolate the students so your selection list is manageable.

  26. Activities By Student WS/OF/AC/BS Activities By Student is used to list a students current and historical activities. Activities can also be maintain for a specific student using the Maintain Activity hyperlink.

  27. Activity – Reports Activity Report by Activity The Activity Report by Activity is used to get a roster of the selected Activities. WS/OF/AC/RE

  28. Activity – Reports Activity Report by Activity Add a Template Enter a Template Description Select Print using Activity Selection Use the Activities button to select Activities. Be sure to use the filter options to find the correct school year and activity. Choose Active in the Student Status

  31. Activities – My Activities My Activities may be used by Activity Directors or others needing information about specific Activities. These users must be in the Activity Staff list and have proper security. Student Search and Reports include: Activity Roster, Attendance Detail, Progress Missing Assignment and Report Card Summary Reports

  34. Lockers - Codes Lock Codes and Lock Makes are needed if you school does not have built in locks. All buildings need to define Locker Areas. When adding Locker Areas, choose the correct Lock Type and if you are Allowing 2 Students per Locker.

  35. Lockers – Locker Codes Locker Codes are added using a Mass Create/Delete Lockers Utility or imported from an external file. This places the locker numbers in specific Locker Areas. For help Creating Lockers or Importing please call NEWESD 101.

  36. Lockers – UtilitiesMass add Lockers by Range This utility assigns lockers to students. Lockers may be assigned by area to specific grade levels, genders, by advisor or by homeroom. The option to Assign Students Randomly scatters the locker assignments in the pool of students.

  37. Lockers – Student Lockers Student Lockers may be used to assign lockers to students one at a time. Find the student and use the Add Primary or Add Secondary Locker hyperlink. Use Edit or Remove to maintain the locker. If your district has external locks, use the maintain locks to manage the student’s lock.

  38. Lockers – Student Profile Lockers are also available in the Student Profile on the Locker TAB Use the buttons on the right for Locker Maintenance.

  39. Lockers - Reports To print a list of students in lockers, use the Student Locker Report by Range. Make the selections needed for your report. You can print locker combinations on this report. You can also print locker numbers and combinations on the Student’s Schedule.

  44. Security Maintaining *Stu Full Access Groups For every *Stu Full Access Group, use the Edit Security Levels button For all the areas in the drop down, choose Check ALL Then choose Assign Selected Set the security to 5/5 and Apply.

CEDARS Staff Schedule.CourseID Error OSPI has notified WSIPC that they have had a large number of districts with the following exceptions this week: “Staff Schedule.CourseID does not have a parent record in the Course Catalog file” and “Student Schedule.CourseID does not have a parent record in the Course Catalog file”. PROCEDURE: Ensure that courses with a Course Status of Inactive or a Category of Transfer (WS\OF\CS\BC\CM) do not have a teacher assigned to the Meet, and do not have students scheduled into the Section. NOTES: Courses with a Status of Inactive or a Category of Transfer are not included in the Course Catalog file. However, if there is a teacher assigned to the Meet or students scheduled in the Section, those courses are included in the Staff and/or Student Schedule files. If a course is not included in the Course Catalog file but is included in the Staff Schedule file and/or the Student Schedule file, it will cause the above exceptions.
