What is NULC? • Keynote speakers and readers are world-class authors. • Accepts research essays on American, British, and World Literature. • Accepts creative work such as essays, fiction, poetry, and creative writing in Spanish. • Undergrads only. • 20+ year tradition. • First and best of its kind.

  5. Why You Should Attend • Present your work to a group of peers and be taken seriously as a writer. • Meet and network with students and faculty from schools across the country. • Associate with published authors. • It looks great on a resume. • We go out to eat! 

  6. Submission Guidelines • Participants need to have been an undergraduate student during 2008 and not yet have attended graduate school. • Submission must be original work. • Despite the length of submission, presentation of submission cannot exceed 15 minutes. • Original poetry submissions have a three poem minimum unless submission exceeds 15 minute reading limit. • Special Criteria for Spanish/Hispanic Submissions: • Creative submissions must be in Spanish. Research submissions can be in Spanish or English. Cover sheets must be in English (when submitting online, fill out information in English) • Submission Deadline: ~middle of January 2010(date not yet published by NULC)

  7. How to Submit • Go tohttp://departments.weber.edu/ce/conferences/nulc and click on the “Submit your entry” link. Or Google “National Undergraduate Literature Conference” and find the “Submit your entry” link.

  8. Once You Have Been Accepted • Acceptance letters go out in February (usually). • Bring a copy of your acceptance letter and a copy of your accepted work to Dr. Clark Draney ASAP (732-6810 cdraney@csi.edu )
