  4. WHY?WHY?WHY? • Compound Wordsare everywhere! • You use compound words when you write! • You see them when you read!

  5. ladybug This is a Compound Word! Put together2 wordsto create anew word. lady + bug= ladybug

  6. Helpful Hint If you can draw a picture for each word, then it’s a great compound word. + = lady + bug = ladybug
