2014 : The Kashmir Deluge • Worst flood in over 100 years • Thousands of inhabitations inundated • More than 65% of capital city submerged • Over 300 dead • More than 25,000 homes destroyed • Over 15,00,000 people affected • Losses estimated over INR 100,000 CRORE
Who is going to Help us ??? • Government is offering “Too Little” , that too in installments: • Central Government has announced Rs. 570 croresagainst the loss of more than Rs.100,000 croresand that too is yet to be spend on ground • Rs.75000 for fully damaged & collapsed houses which is not even sufficient to dismantle it… • Giving 35kg rice to a family. • Does it really address the sufferings… ? • Certainly NOT • Some questions Remain unanswered ::: • Where are these unfortunate people going to live ??? • What are they going to eat other then rice ??? • Who is going to give them warm clothing & winter gear ??? • Needs are timely and Can’t Wait…

Jammu Kashmir Rehabilitation Forum Joining Hands Together • Is an amalgam of 70+Voluntary Groups, Non-Profitand other Organizations like Trade Federations, Mohalla Committees, etc. • We all have converged to several common points : • Work in coordination with each other to ensure that the relief reaches to all properly and no one stays neglected • Collect factual data of all the affected families and businesses so as to ensure the task of rehabilitation is carried in a phased and procedural manner • Orient the efforts collectively for productive and substantial progress on ground • Be a Voice that can represent the genuine problems and issues of the flood affected people in national and international forums
Rescue Our team has strived with tremendous courage in very intricate situations during rescue operations… We collectively managed to save lives of more than 10,000 people
Relief • So far, arranged/purchased and distributed 207 trucks of relief materials among victims • Conducted 89 medical camps across flood affected areas • Currently taking care of 763 affected families through all possible means...
Our Methodology Sample Form • Detailed surveys and damage assessment of affected areas by our team of volunteers. • Verification by our team with help of Mohalla committees and local volunteers. • Intervention in coordination with Mohallacommittees for disciplined distribution of relief and further rehabilitation process. • Identification of worst hit families.
We SHARE their burden • We have a pragmatic approach towards rehabilitation process in which involvement of all the stakeholders (Affected Family, Government & Non-Profits) is the focus. • Our plan envisages support for the family duly keeping in mind that people don’t become dependant forever. • We fully take care of the essentials like winter gear, beddings, etc to deal with extreme winters of Kashmir . • We also support some part of day-to-day expenses of the family. • We expect the family also to contribute a small portion of day to day needs so as to keep up self-respect and the spirit of rising again so that they take part in their own rehabilitation.
Warmthfor Winters Initiative • Adoption of 3274 most affected families (who have lost everything including their homes) identified by our team by providing them the needed essentials for their survival in harsh winters. • South Kashmir – 1327 families • Central Kashmir – 1154 families • North Kashmir – 793 families

Transparency in work • We have a ‘Family Adoption Form’ on which we record the particulars of the family with full relevant details including mobile numbers.. • To maintain transparency and donor satisfaction, we make sure that every item given to the family is duly received on this form by the family head. • A copy of this form is mailed to the donor for future reference.
