RE-THINKING SERVICE FROM A PULSE DESIGN
RE-THINKING SERVICE FROM A PULSE DESIGN • Pulse systems typically operate out of the central location with vehicles meeting at fixed intervals; • Routes are located and designed so that the cycle time for each route is as close to the same as practical; • Pulse systems minimizes transfer time between routes; • It’s possible some trips between outlying points have to go into the city center and transfer and this can lead to longer travel times; • Ideally pulse systems are located at major trip generators that are destinations and provide opportunities for joint use; • The Pulse system will begin to establish a multi-modal linked Saco Transportation Center
PULSE DESIGN • ORIGINATES OUT OF A TRANSFER HUB • EFFICIENCY OF CENTRALIZED TRANSFER POINT • PASSENGER COMFORT & CONVENIENCE • PASSENGER AMENITIES • FULL SERVICE AREA ACCESS (incl. both Main Streets) • MULTIMODAL OPPORTUNITIES
