  1. Sermon • Galatians 4:4-7 • Come Thou Long Expected Jesus • Introduction

  2. But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons. And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba! Father!”

  3. So you are no longer a slave, but a son, and if a son, then an heir through God. Formerly, when you did not know God, you were enslaved to those that by nature are not gods. (Galatians 4:4-8 ESV)

  4. Come Thou Long Expected Jesus Born to set Thy people free. • From our fears and sins release us; let us find our rest in Thee… • Israel’s Strength and Consolation, hope of all the earth Thou art. • Dear Desire of every nation, joy of every longing heart

  13. Israel’s Strength and Consolation, hope of all the earth Thou art. • Luke 2:25-32 25 And there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon; and this man was righteous and devout, looking for the CONSOLATION of Israel; and the Holy Spirit was upon him.

  15. 29 "Now Lord, You are releasing Your bond-servant to depart in peace, According to Your word; 30 For my eyes have seen Your salvation, 31 Which You have prepared in the presence of all peoples, 32 A LIGHT OF REVELATION TO THE GENTILES, And the glory of Your people Israel."
