Plows gave way to herds of sheep being raised for wool; wool that would be spun by women in their homes. Wool that would be bought and sold by merchants. As Thomas Watts created his steam engine, those cottages evolved into factories full of workers in cities creating products for the world. These changes have made England a world power, but at what price? While I value the wealth of progress and production, I fear we are harming our families, our children, and our planet.
