  4. France • Rough & hard on outside • Soft & spongy on inside • Long & thin • About 18 in. long • About 3 in. in diameter • They take great pride in it. It is a symbol of life in France. “Perfection”

  5. French Ingredients Some of the main ingredients are… • Water • Flour • Sugar • Salt • Egg • Yeast

  6. Italy • Crusty & has a large slit through the top • Slightly tougher than French bread on inside • Short & fat • It comes in many different sizes • In Italy they find importance in its size

  7. Italian Ingredients Some of the main ingredients are… • Olive oil • Water • Yeast • Salt • Egg

  8. England Scones • Roll- like • Any shape desired • Flat & small Crumpets • Biscuit- like • Crusty • Round & small Both • They are “portable” and good with tea

  9. English ingredients Some of the main ingredients in scones & crumpets are… • Flour • Salt • Baking soda • Butter • Milk • Sugar

  10. Spain • Powdery • Soft • It is usually a cylindrical shape • There is no uniform size • They find importance in its “flavoring.”
