  2. Walter Disney was born Hermosa, Chicago, Illinois, United States on 5th December 1901. • As an adult, he became a film producer, director, screenwriter, voice actor, entertainer and animator.

  3. A Vision • Disney came up with the idea of a fun park that both children and adults could play in after he visited other parks with his daughters. • He and his brother Roy co-founded the Walt Disney Productions.

  4. Disney’s first theme park opened on 18th July 1955 in Anaheim, California. • Walt personally supervised the development of the park, so he got what he wanted.

  5. More Parks • In 1968 he wanted to create a Disney “World” and started to hunt around the world for a good location. • He had a private jet which was nick-named “Mouse” and became the most used private jet, taking Disney people all over the world.

  6. Today, “Mouse” is resting in the back lot museum, at Disney Hollywood Studio’s in Florida. • If you look closely, Mickey Mouse is painted on his tail. • I Saw It!

  7. Florida • Walt Disney found land in Florida and started to buy up huge areas of land to create his Disney “World”

  8. Disney Parks • There are Disney parks in California, Florida, Paris, Japan and they have just built one in Hawaii. • This is a map of the Disney World in Florida. It’s big!

  9. Epcot • At Epcot, you travel around the world. • This is in Japan. These drummers visited from Japan.

  10. Characters • The Disney company have created lots of characters.
