Objectives • To promote skills development and information exchange related to Internet domain names amongst members • To provide a forum to discuss policy matters affecting Internet domain name related entities • To act as an interface with Internet coordination bodies and other bodies involved in the Internet domain name operation

  6. Trainings • Beijing August 2009: IPv6 one-day workshop by APNIC • Seoul ICANN: DNSSEC Workshop by APNIC, ACRP Workshop by ICANN • Sri Lanka APTLD: IPv6 by APNIC, Registry Operations by NSRC

  7. Surveys • Strategy Matters – September 2009 • Overall Membership – December 2009 collaborating with all other regional TLD organisations:CENTR , LACTLD • Internal Issues – May 2010

IDN ccTLDs • One of the major advocates:different comments and position papers submitted to ICANN and we have the biggest demand on IDN • Delegation completed: United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Russian Federation, Egypt, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Jordan • Closely follow-up on the development, e.g. IDN ccPDP, JIG IDN WG

  9. Disaster Support Fund • To support member organisations upon natural disasters • Donation in cash or in kind • Technical support for rebuilding registry infrastructure

  10. Regional activities • We also co-organized AP regional IGF in June in Hongkong, it was a very successful meeting have more than 200 people attended

  11. Internal matters • New General Manager: Jian Zhang • New Secretariat • InternetNZ has been operating and sponsoring the secretariat of APTLD from 2005 to 2009 and their contract came to an end in June 2009 • A Request for Proposal (RFP) for the APTLD Secretariat was therefore issued • HKIRC, the registry for the .HK ccTLD, was selected and awarded a contract to operate and sponsor the APTLD Secretariat from 2009 to 2011
