  2. Goal:Increase the number of children who start school ready to succeed by supporting their parents as first and best teachers.

  3. History • 2004-2008 Kindergarten Readiness Survey showed more children struggling county wide • Success By 6 and TECC year of planning • United Way year of fundraising • Right from the Start “ribbon tying” Dec. 2010

Early Learning Parent Resource Center Inside Rochester Primary School • Outreach, literature and referrals in English and Spanish • Ready! for Kindergarten classes for parents • First Teacher newsletter • Play and Learn groups • Story Time-bilingual • Family events coordinated with school • Community Cafes

  5. One of six English and Spanish Ready! for Kindergarten classes in February.

  6. Rochester Outreach and Partnerships WIC Head Start ROOF, Food Bank Door to door Centralia College All four preschools, many home care settings School events, staff “Kitchen Cabinet” TECC partners Faith based organizations

  7. November 2010-June 2011Right from the Start Outputs • 158 families engaged • 16 events, 482 attendees • 3,350 pieces of literature distributed • 335 referrals made • 93 volunteers logged 278 hours
