EMERGENCY ALERT SYSTEMS • Existing emergency communications systems failed during the terrorist attacks of 09-11-01 and during the catastrophic hurricanes that devastated the Gulf Coast in 2005. • These events also illustrated the failure of cell, web, and satellite based communications systems. These systems were significantly damaged or destroyed during the event. Katrina and Rita caused tri-state outages that lasted several weeks. None of these systems offers a viable platform for communications during, or immediately after a catastrophic event. • Global Security Systems GSSNet First Alert System uses the existing worldwide FM broadcast infrastructure to provide Target Area Coverage using a proprietary secure, encryptable, layered and survivable communications platform.
