  1. Poseidon( Neptune) • Parentage- Kronos and Rhea • Sphere of Influence- The water( Oceans, Seas ,Rivers etc.) God of Horses and Earthquakes. • Attributes-The symbol for which Poseidon is best known is the trident. Poseidon is often shown alongside his wife Amphitrite in a sea chariot driven by hippocampus • Birthplace- Island of Crete • Place Favored- Underwater Realm, Atlantis

  2. Poseidon (Neptune) driving a chariot of hippocampus,Roman mosaic C3rd A.D., Poseidon showing his wrath at a trireme in age of mythology

  3. Pre 476 A.D. Modern I choose this image for Poseidon because it shows the attributes and how roman and Greeks depicted Poseidon . First it shows Poseidon holding the trident the main weapon he has and the main symbol that usually is incorporated with him. Also he riding a chariot driven by hippocampus which is the way of travel Poseidon prefers. Finally he is drawn naked the way both Romans and Greeks depicted Poseidon. That is why I choose this image for Poseidon. • I choose this image for the way modern art depicts this god. First it shows Poseidon furious at a human ship and is about to destroy it thus bringing the wrath of the sea upon the trireme. Next Poseidon is holding a trident his main symbol of power and authority over his domain. Finally Poseidon is depicted by modern artists by to be a half fish half man god which is not what Romans and Greeks depicted him. That is why I choose this image for Poseidon.
