FHP Magazine • FHP magazine is Nottingham’s premier lifestyle magazine, which has now been running for 4 years. • We are a bi-monthly publication with a 20,000 print run aiming at the 20-55 ABC1 market
FHP Going Online • Originally, our online strategy was simply to convert editorial information into a website. • At that stage we were not considering including advertisers.
Digital Business Model • When Digital Alternatives contacted us, and we saw the exact copy edition which included advertiser website links, we immediately knew this would be a winner. • We increased our advertising rate by an average of 20% and were very surprised and impressed by how easily advertisers accepted the concept.
The Results • Having used a free demo (20 pages) to approach advertisers and readers. We launched our first digital edition in October 2005. • Now, on our fourth edition, just 12 weeks later, our site has already attracted over 1,000,000 hits, far exceeding our, (and clients) expectations.
The Future… • One of the biggest advantages of having the digital magazine is being able to e-mail it to our readers. This is much more cost-effective than printing and posting. It has enabled us to increase circulation. • We will shortly be introducing rich media, including Video and Flash advertisements. This will increase up-sell possibilities, and increase revenues from existing and new advertisers.
