Aims of the SUMMIT • to celebrate 40 years of AP region and look forward to Centenary opportunities for Girl Guiding Girl Scouting • to share ideas and learn from one another to develop the WAGGGS 6 Areas effectively • to commit as a Region to achieve 2011 vision for WAGGGS • to begin thinking of future way forward for next triennium • to highlight agreed outcome statements

Common Issues for AP in 1971 • MEMBERSHIP – low percentage of available girls in the community • Drop out in Ranger Age group • Lack of Administrative training in MOs • Lack of funds • Economic pressures • Lack of Commissioners/Volunteers • Effect of political situations in countries
Exciting things…are still happening • Some MOs growing membership • More young people involved in decision making in MOs • Relationship and partnerships with other NGOs growing. • Opportunities provided by Centenary • Attendance of girls and National Leaders at Summit
