3. Getting to the Transportation Center • Call Rutgers’ Security 856/225-6009 • Use the Red Emergency Phones located across the campus • Services Starting at 4pm

4. Services for the Handicapped • Available Anytime of the Day • Vans are not Handicapped Accessible • Will pick up and deliver anywhere

5. Night and Weekend Services • Night service is available starting at 4pm • University police/security guards will accompany individuals to their destinations • Security is available 24 hours/7 days a week • Emergency phones are posted all across the campus

Commuting • Is more convenient and less expensive • One Student Commented: “The only reason I came to Rutgers University is because the Riverline made it easy to commute”. • Another Student Commented: “New Jersey transit is very convenient for me. I take the bus because I live about 40 miles away and I can study or take a nap before I get to the campus”.

7. Student Parking is an Inconvenience and Overpriced • One Rutgers Camden Student Commented: “I would like to see Rutgers build another parking lot a little closer to campus that is also a little cheaper. • This suggest a need for a more convenient and cheaper way of commuting to/from the campus

Catching a shuttle bus all the way from the baseball field is terrible. They should have more convenient parking for the students so that they can get to class on time, instead of having to rush to class everyday because they have to wait 15 minutes for a shuttle bus”. • If students were aware of the Escort Service that is available and free, commuting would be a better option and more convenient.

9. Benefits of the Escort Service The benefit of the Escort Service is that it is a safe and secure way for the students to get to their destinations. There are quite a few student who have stated that they do not feel secure when walking to their cars or to any other destination away from the campus. Based on statistics reported to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Camden was the third-most dangerous city in the United States during 2002, and has been ranked the nation's most dangerous city in 2004 and 2005. Camden which is named the “Most dangerous city" is based on crime statistics in six categories: murder, rape, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, and auto theft.

10. What students should know • The escort service is free to all attending students • Public transportation is cheap and convenient • Security will send a van to pick you up and drop you off to the Walter Rand Transportation Center, Riverline and the Hi-speedline. • Fast service • Hassel free

11. Changes and Improvements needed for the Escort Service • The vans need to be handicapped accessible • The time allotted for van service is 4 pm it should be anytime of the day • Place the red security phones in the building at 319 Cooper St.
