Recent Technical/Scientific Progress • ANTARES:  5 lines in operation, continuous data taking, first n’s Completion (12 lines) expected by January 2008 • NEMO: Prototype modules (junction box, 5-storey tower) deployed and connected, data taking ongoing • NESTOR:DOE proposal with Berkeley (GRBs with 4-floor tower + autonomous lines) U. Strategic/Political/Management Issues • ESFRI: • KM3NeT included in ESFRI roadmap (Sept. 2006) • ESFRI has initiated top-down political process(national prioritization, expressions of interest) • Strong support for KM3NeT in several countries • KM3NeT eligible for ‘Preparatory Phase’ project ( presentation by U. Katz) • ApPEC and ASPERA • Contractual issues: • Contract amendment submitted • Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies is new member – welcome! • 1st-year report • see presentation by Roland Klein • we learned a lot … it went quite well … but room for improvements! • Information management • From now on: Only through web portal!
