Sensirion Adaptor & DCS display Stable when SCTDAQ not running, occasional DCS crashes when running both under study
Purchased additional PSU for Stave250 • TSX1820P • Single channel 18V 20A • GPIB • £791 • CPX400DP • Dual channel • Each 20A below 20V • GPIB, USB, LAN • £975 Taken together, we can now service all three Stave250 power segments
UKSP2 Some new Stuff Peter W Phillips, RAL
UKSP2 Power initially through 2mm connectors to facilitate studies of differing chain combinations Chain of Modules CAM2 LIV21 LIV12 CAM4
Special Feature: CAM1 built with one unshielded hybrid Extra DTN occupancy at specific locations, related to use of non-blind vias. (Easily avoided in future submissions.) 0.5fC Threshold
Preliminary Conclusions • CofM STAR SP works well • ENC values within range expected due to temperature variation • We understand how to make the reference ties within a module. • Hollow square is adequate • The shield is probably not required • more work to do on this • CM develops along the SP chain • can be removed by adding capacitors to LVDS screen • May or may not be sufficient in a longer chain • Open Questions • How does “4on” compare with “1on”? • How do wirebonds change things?

What if I try the new PSU? • CPX400DP • Dual channel • Each 20V 20A or 60V 7A • GPIB, USB, LAN • £975

Summary and Plans • With the new PSU, it looks just as good with bonds as it did previously with wires • Need to look at the outputs of the two PSU to understand this • Are the inductors helping? • Remove some to find out • Is the STAR helping? • Replace one board by Brookhaven “non STAR” equivalent

DTN: Four modules, two chains 2276-9 0 NS 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 => Improvement Maintained!
Interpretation & Analysis • M3 is fine when operated on its own • Suggests the “hollow square” is perfectly adequate for referencing purposes • M3 is fine when all modules are operating as long as it has its own power supply • Suggests the “hollow square” is perfectly adequate for shielding purposes • Yet M3 is not fine when operated in the same chain as the others • Suggests that CM is developing along the SP chain • Quick trials with caps and wires indicated that coupling the shield / referencing square to EoS ground could help • Time to implement this properly
