Straw activity • Take a huge breath in and out • Take a huge breath in and out using the straw • Take a huge breath in and out using the coffee stirer
Findings: • What did you feel breathing on your own, versus the straw and coffee stirrer. • How does this relate to smoking? • How could this affect your daily life?
Tar will build up over a long period of time in someone’s lungs. This causes the smoker to longer inhale and exhale normally.

Controversy • All 3 Marlboro Men died of Lung Cancer • McLaren testified in FAVOR of anti-smoking legislation • Marlboro decided he never appeared in their ads • Later revoked statement, saying he was never an 'official Marlboro Man' • He died at age 51
