Intro • Due to millenials need of inter-activeness and innovation spirit appears a new frontier in IoT: Social Internet of Things (SIoT), eg: Facebook channel - https://www.facebook.com/virtuality/. • Most of the inventions spread from gaming with passion or relaxing activities. The same happened with VR/AR • There have been developed pervasive cyber ecosystems to assist people in daily activities, improving the life quality. SIoT allows these ecosystems to adapt to people needs and to envisage their behaviors [Cicirelli, 2019]. Rocsana Manea Tonis
1. WhatisVr/AR? • Virtual reality (VR) “is an interactive computer-generated experience taking place within a simulated environment.” Is an experience that provides auditory, visual and sensory feedback, like haptic. • VR is further developed and transformed in augmented reality (AR). AR fulfill the user VR experience with the ability to view three-dimensional images, due to a live camera feed into a headset or through a smartphone or tablet device. • VR uses headsets (HTC Vive, Oculus Rift or Google Cardboard) or multi-projected environments, realistic images, sounds, vibrations, tactile sensations. The characteristics of VR • Presence - VR is associated with the feeling of actually being transported to a new event or place. • Haptics - A pleasant, intense presence is associated with the tactile response of the user when immersing in VR. • Interactivity - multiples ways of clients to join the adventure, and different types of media inside a piece VR content. • 4D VR - the fourth dimension intensify the experience • Stereoscopic effect -capturing two photos/videos at slightly different angles and having the appearance of depth if viewed together • Maximizing the “field of view”, with 360-degree view. • Shorten the lag between a VR stimulus and a response • Reducing the simulator sickness due to offset between what the subject sees and what his body feels. Conclusion • The companies and customers should be aware of the many benefits brought by VR/AR. They have to take advantage of opportunities as they arise, any of which are currently untapped. The holograms, the AR and VR experiences offer unlimited possibilities for museums, logistics, travel agencies, companies that sells technology (cars, computers, technical equipment/machinery, etc.) There are other fields unstudied in this article such as e-learning environment, medicine, psychology, economy etc. • Furthermore, a great advantage brought by VR/AR is that respect the principles of circular economy, protecting the environment, reducing the cost of planning, designing, scraping and making the experiments under the security of VR/AR environment.
