On Wealth • If I met a wealthy person that is still in touch with reality, still knows the meaning of a hard days work, knows the value of every penny earned, then I would be amazed and have great respect for that person. • In my opinion money is the root of all evil. • Money itself is a restriction; poor people do not have the same opportunities as people born rich.
On Rights • Every person has the same rights, although these rights are not always acknowledged. • We all have rights, and rights have changed over the years. • Animals should have rights, animals are also a part of this world.
On Truth vs. Happiness • Is the truth worth knowing if it will affect our lives in the negative? Will the truth set us free or just bury us in more grief? • I personally think that knowing the truth is an essential factor to success. • Truth is a powerful thing and can sometimes drive you insane…Truth is a hard thing to understand. It is something that can bring the worst of pain or the happiest of moments.
On Power and Pleasure • Face it, everyone in the world likes power, and when we get power we feel good, we get pleasured. • It’s hard for a powerful person to have the pleasure of real love but easy for them to have material things such as a pool or hot tub, etc.
On Power • I don’t really believe in authority a whole lot because most people who have a lot of power are cruel and heartless. • Most people are corrupted by power making them selfish or arrogant, so is it love if they feel that they deserve someone?
On Fame vs. Security • In truth I would rather be without fame…Security is important for your sanity. That is the most important thing to me to function in society. • Many people think of fame as being some invisibility gauge telling others how much they like you.
On Freedom vs. Fairness • “What are laws?” Aren’t they only restrictions on the freedoms people possess? • Freedom is many times taken for granted. People think that freedom is a god-given right, but it is not.
On Freedom • Freedom is the most important thing you have, and it is a cause worth dying for. That is why I want to join the merchant marines, so this country remains free.
On Freedom • If everyone no longer had to worry about paying for anything or going to work all social order would break down and stuff like food would disappear in just a few days. • If I was perfectly free I would do anything I want. I wouldn’t go to school or put up with my parents or my sister. I would roam the world as a free man. Life would be awesome if the world was free. Sure there would be some fights but the world would be happy.
