FEB->ROD connections in EM Barrel and End-Cap. Aim : define the FEB->ROD connectivity in the EMB and EMEC There are 448 FEBs for each half barrel and 276 FEBs for each End-Cap. There were presentations on ROD Technical meetings 23-1-2003 and 17-6-2003.

FEB->ROD connections in EM Barrel and End-Cap • Aim : define the FEB->ROD connectivity in the EMB and EMEC • There are 448 FEBs for each half barrel and 276 FEBs for each End-Cap There were presentations on ROD Technical meetings 23-1-2003 and 17-6-2003 Louis Fayard 20-07-2003
New Proposal of ROB mapping (23-1-2003) coming from Fred Wickens Taking into account that RoI’s are normally square in eta-phi space , one tries to obtain ROBs with an eta-phi coverage as square as possible in order to minimize the number of ROBs to be addressed by a RoI One can do this in the non-staging and in the staging modes Louis Fayard 20-07-2003
example 1.4 3.2 0. 1.5 ROB proposal for the Front Layer 0. 1 color = 1 ROB in non-staging mode (=2 FEBs) 2 Louis Fayard 20-07-2003
y EM Barrel 1 ROD crate = 14 RODs = ¼ of a half barrel = 14*8 = 112 FEBs 5L 5R 4L 4R 3L 3R 2L 2R x 1L 1R The proposal is to have a ROD crate corresponding to 4 FECs (for instance 1R,1L , .. 4L) Louis Fayard 20-07-2003
EMEC ( 3 ROD crates for each end-cap) 13 RODs corresponding to eta between 1.6 and 2.4 are in one crate y x The last ROD crate has 9 RODs corresponding to the 8 half FECs at small and large eta Louis Fayard 20-07-2003
