2011 Michigan Nursing CorpsProgram Models - Model A MSN – Education • Candidates have 18 months or less for program completion • Methods / Technologies utilized • Scholarship award covers tuition, books, fees • No stipend MDCH/DELEG
2011 Michigan Nursing Corps Program Models - Model A MSN – Education • Scholarship award up to $20,000 based on length of program • Required student contract for receipt of scholarship award • Teaching commitment for 5 years in Michigan MDCH/DELEG

2011 Michigan Nursing Corps Program Models - Model BSimulation Technology in Nursing Education • Description of current technology in nursing program • Thorough description of program plans for -teaching technologies -facilitating completion of education program -removing barriers for clinical education • Impact on program capacity and completion MDCH/DELEG
2011 Michigan Nursing Corps Proposal Format • Separate proposal required for each model • Proposal must specifically identify model • Sections must be numbered to match and address elements of Proposal Narrative Section (Appendix B). • Narrative no more than 5 pages MDCH/DELEG

2011 Michigan Nursing Corps Reporting (cont’d) • Four quarterly progress reports • Final Comprehensive Summary Report - Describe project and outcomes - Successes / barriers - Best practices: Lessons learned - Due 30 days from date of program completion • Final Payment contingent upon receipt, acceptance and approval MDCH/DELEG
2011 Michigan Nursing Corps Funding and Payments • Initial advance payment award of 25% of the Total Authorized Budget Payment to grantees upon execution of the grant. • Any subsequent payments will be made upon timely submission of quarterly reports. MDCH/DELEG
2011 Michigan Nursing Corps Funding and Payments (cont’d) • Additional 25% may be made each quarter thereafter upon submission of documentation showing the initial advance has been spent in total. • Final 25% of the grant amount shall be made after completion of the project and after the Grant Administrator has received and approved the final program summary report. 2011 Michigan Nursing Corps Budget • Completion of required budget form - Appendix D of RFP • Budget justification – costs must be aligned with project objectives, staff support, position descriptions, resources required to complete project activities. MDCH/DELEG
