Personal protective equipment is used to protect personnel from possible hazards within a particular area.
There are various levels of protective equipment, depending on the nature and level of exposure.
Special clothing is needed when encountering hazardous substances.
Foot protection includes disposable boots, shoes, and covers. The protection chosen may vary depending on the situation.
Gloves protect a person’s hands against harmful substances. Glove materials vary depending on the type of substance that a worker is handling.
Eye protection must be close-fitting to prevent small particles from entering the eye. Full covering masks also work well for eye protection.
Respirators prevent personnel from inhaling contaminants. The two main types of respirators are air-purifying and air-supplying respirators.
Bloodborne pathogen personal protection kits allow building personnel to work safely when remediating a blood or bodily fluid incident.
