  3. Green - chair and host arrangements in place (20 of 27) Orange - structures not in place but activities being undertaken (4.5) White - no significant progress to date (2.5) Portfolios for all areas Issues and Actions Progress

Success in part due to: Agreement between democratic and participatory elements to work together Support from County Councillors Coherent geographical area with issues in common History of partnership working (development trusts / community partnerships / CAPs etc) Strong chair and host organisation identified Joint working with other parts of NCC or partner organisations (LMAPS, LDF Team, NNPA, Development Trusts, CVSs etc etc). Successful locality working

  5. Mainly due to one (or combination) of: Geography (different priorities or access issues) Significant activity already underway (Berwick) Less experience of successful partnership working (no development trust / community partnership in place) Local politics / disagreement as to way forward Feeling of satisfaction / ability to influence already (Place Survey results) Less successful locality working

Flexible approach to developing locality working One size does not fit all Commitment to bottom up Focus of attention on those areas that need greatest support (narrowing gap within Northumberland).
