Today’s goals 5/19/14 Bell Ringers #80 & 81 Start Drama Terms Notes Correlative Conjunctions Review & Exercise Read “I Lost 100 Pounds” Scholastic Article & Complete WS SAR Time – Points due Thursday! Conjunctions Test – Wednesday Scholastic Book Orders – Due tomorrow! HOMEWORK: Begin studying for the Conjunctions Test on Wednesday!

  3. Drama Terms Acting Area - the performance space where the actor/actress moves in full view of the audience Backstage - the part of the stage and theatre which is out of the sight of the audience Cue - the signal an actor uses to begin a line or movement

  4. Dress Rehearsal - a full practice, where actors/actresses are in costume and everything is performed as written Props - furnishings, set accessories, and any other item large and small which can’t be used as scenery, electrical or wardrobe. Stage Left/Right - the actor’s point of view when looking out at the audience, which indicates the direction to enter and exit the performance space

  7. Casting – the process of choosing actors/actresses to perform the character Company - the cast, crew, and other staff associated with a show Runners - curtains in the middle of the stage closest to the audience or people hired to do different things during the production

  8. House - the audience or auditorium Offstage- a motion or conversation coming from the side of the stage, maybe out of view from the audience
