Multisim Subcircuits

Multisim Subcircuits. Draw the basic circuit you want. Use the Place Junction option to add what will be “terminals” for your sub-circuit. Circuit with “extra” junctions. Drag across circuit cutting across connections that will serve as inputs or outputs of the subcircuit.

  1. Multisim Subcircuits

  2. Draw the basic circuit you want

  3. Use the Place Junction option to add what will be “terminals” for your sub-circuit

  4. Circuit with “extra” junctions

  5. Drag across circuit cutting across connections that will serve as inputs or outputs of the subcircuit Cutting across a connection

  6. Place/Replace by Subcircuit …

  7. Name the subcircuit

  8. Result

  9. To see the details within the subcicuit, right click on the subcircuit, choose Properties, then click Edit HB/SC

  10. To rename a input/output label, right click on it and choose Properties

  11. Rename the label and click OK.

  12. Result with relabeled connectors

  13. Back on the Design tab. To change location of connectors on subcircuit, return to original tab page, right click and choose Edit Symbol.

  14. Now can move position of leads. Save, then close the editor.

  15. Subcircuit as part of larger circuit

  16. To use subcircuit in another file, highlight “internal” version of subcircuit (notice tab)

  17. Choose Paste as Subcircuit

  18. Subcircuit pasted into new file.
