  2. TASK, CONDITIONS, STANDARDS TASK: CONDITIONS: STANDARDS: To familiarize the soldier with the MK-19 Automatic Grenade Launcher. Given a Block of instruction, MK-19 with M-3 Tripod, and Motivation. To disassemble, separate into proper grouping, and reassemble the MK-19 correctly with no deficiencies.

  3. MK-19 Grenade Launcher Features: The MK-19 Grenade Launcher is a 40.0 MM Automatic Grenade Launcher that is crew served, gas operated, and metallic link belt fed machine gun. The MK-19 engages point targets out to 1,500 meters and engages area targets out to 2,212 meters.

  4. MK-19 Grenade Launcher Background: The MK-19 Grenade Launcher Mod# 1 was first introduced as a Naval Hand Cranked Weapon in 1959 and was utilized in the Vietnam Conflict for Coastal Patrol. The MK-19 Grenade Launcher Mod# 4, which we use today, was last updated in 1988.
