  3. A bit of background • Oct 2011- Became early adopters • Feb 2012 - First contact with III Project Manager • Nov 2012 - Project kicked off with III • Dec 2012 - Servers handed over to III • Jan 2013 - Project Manager changed • Feb 2013 - Access to Preview Mode • Mar 2013 – Migrated!

  4. The not so good bits • WebSelect • Circa • Speed • Infrastructure

  5. WebSelect

  6. Any news on this call yet? We really need our Public Library clients who use WebSelectto be able to use it from day 1 after we convert to Sierra, and if their logins change, we have to communicate this to them asap. If we can't guarantee this, it could be a show stopper for us. I think we got this resolved now. It seems like the permission works a little differently than it used to, and that wasn't clear in the documentation. I checked and it looks like you've already got a good chunk of users assigned to this application, so that's a good sign. I'm still seeking clarification about the permission/application relationship, but I think you should be okay now.

  7. We've had our specialists take a look and they can't seem to reconcile the information so we are seeking a higher level of support.

  8. Circa

  9. Speed

  10. Infrastructure

  11. Fallout • Confidence in the LMS was jeopardised • Project staff were consumed with troubleshooting • Normal business as usual work and other projects were on hold and we are still catching up

  12. The good bits • Basecamp • Communication • Familiarisation • Rolling out the SDA • Sierra listserv • Sierra

  13. What we learnt • Having a US based vendor is hard work • The squeaky wheel gets the most grease • Be wary of what you can’t test • Sometimes you’ll be disappointed

  14. “And will you succeed? Yes indeed, yes indeed! Ninety-eight and three quarters percent guaranteed.”Dr Seuss
