What’s important to you? How hard would you look for it if you lost it?
Would you look for a person, if they were lost? A Son? Daughter?
Our God is a FATHER, right? DOES HE CARE ABOUT PEOPLE? Err… i suppose so?
ADAM – Genesis 2 v18-25 GOD CARES ABOUT PEOPLE And Adam says “This is now bone of my bones And flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, because she came out of man.” GOD : “it is not good for man to be alone;” GOD : “I will make a helper comparable to him” So GOD brought every animal and bird to Adam to see what he would call them.Every bird and animal! But for Adam there was not found a helper comparable to him. So what did God do? He nicks Adam’s rib and makes Woman. Then he brings her to Adam, like a father giving away a daughter at a wedding. • Indifference Understanding EMPATHY COMPASSION God’s attitude
GOD CARES ABOUT PEOPLE When there’s a problem, I.E. Adam’s on his own, God SEES the problem, SOLVES the problem and is even prepared to solve it in a totally awesome way! (creating another living creature).
In the world today there are 27 million slaves. People who are lost, enslaved, and on their own. AND GOD CARES.
If you’re a son or daughter of God, then you’re part of his solution. God wants to use you and me to set these captives free.
8 Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. 9 Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy. PROVERBS 31 The sayings of King Lemuel – an inspired utterance his mother taught him. (good on you Lemuel’s mum!) 2 Listen, my son! Listen, son of my womb! Listen, my son, the answer to my prayers! 3 Do not spend your strength on women, your vigour on those who ruin kings. 4 It is not for kings, Lemuel – it is not for kings to drink wine, not for rulers to crave beer, 5 lest they drink and forget what has been decreed, and deprive all the oppressed of their rights. 6 Let beer be for those who are perishing, wine for those who are in anguish! 7 Let them drink and forget their poverty and remember their misery no more. 8 Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. 9 Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.
SPEAK out against slavery! SPEAK for those who can’t speak for themselves! and PRAY, PRAY for change!
PRAY FOR CHANGE Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective – james 5 v16
PRAY FOR CHANGE Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the father may be glorified in the Son. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it. – John 14 v 12-14
PRAY FOR CHANGE If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. This is to my fathers glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples – John 15 v7-8
People matter. No one should be a slave. Please help, and pray.
