Objective • Today you will learn about a new type of presentation tool – Prezi. • Define, understand and demonstrate a Prezi presentation.
About Grades . . . • First Quarter Grades are in Aeries. • Is your grade low? Do you wish it was higher? Do you even care? If the answer is yes . . . see Mr. Briggs at lunch today in F5. • We will discuss “possibilities” for grade improvement. • Do not forget or procrastinate.
Project Timeline • Monday: Intro to Prezi. Read articles and answer questions. • Tuesday: Gather research for your assigned topic. • Wednesday-Thursday: Put your Prezi Presentation together. Your Prezi must be completed by the end of the period on Thursday. Email Prezi URL to Mr. Briggs by Thursday. • Friday: Evaluate each other’s Prezi. Graded.
Homework for Monday • Due Tuesday. • Read the articles on this presentation. Watch the videos too. • Label papers Prezi. Follow the directions and answer the questions on this presentation.
Assignment: What’s Prezi?Label : Prezi • Write out questions. Answer them. What’s Prezi? • Prezi is a web-based presentation application and storytelling tool that uses a single canvas instead of traditional slides. • exploring and sharing ideas on a virtual canvas • cloud based • free form – no slides – non-linear • easily adaptable to ipad and smart devices • Example OneExample Two
Prezi (Step 1) • Go to http://prezi.com • sign up for Prezi (free) • Begin by looking through the interface
Prezi Support (Step 2) • Read - Prezi for Dummies Cheat Sheet • Read - Wiki Help: How to use Prezi • Watch the video to get started - click here.
Starting Research (Step 3) • Match your number to the research topic. No trading. No changes. Do not ask. • Create a folder in Documents > October > Prezi • Gather research from at least three different sources. • Find relevant pictures. Save them in Prezi folder. • Find at least one Youtube video. Save URL. • Background music and voice overs are optional. Save as necessary in Prezi folder. • Save all URL’s from research, pictures, audio/video sources.
Making the Prezi (Step 4) • Choose custom or template. • Include a minimum of 5 frames. • Set paths and nesting to make the site interesting and usable. • Your Prezi should actually teach the viewer about your assigned topic. Buffoonery like game playing or off-task behavior will result in a great deduction of points. • No jolly spidysor moonwalkers!
