  1. Communicate with your teachers and classmates in a positive way

  2. Procedures • Be respectful • No yelling or back mouthing • Use appropriate language

  3. Be respectful When you are in the classroom you must be respectful to the adult in charge and your classmates. You can be respectful by listening to the adult in charge when he/she is talking and not interrupting while anyone is talking.

  4. Example Jon listens to his classmate say the wrong answer. Again. Jon says, “That’s okay,” and talks about the right answer with his classmate.

  5. No yelling or back mouthing Non- Example: Roy is shouting at his friend being disrespectful to the adult in charge and to his friend. Discuss: Was that the right thing to do? How could Roy have handled this situation differently?

  6. Example: Susie is talking to her friend quietly and respectfully, being respectful to her friend. Discuss: Was this the right thing to do? Why?

  7. Use Appropriate Language No using: cuss words, rude tones, making people feel bad, making people mad, and communication that is negative. What should you use instead?

  8. Practice Student 1 (or teacher) gives a scenario. Student 2 gives an example of how a person in the situation could communicate positively.

  9. Teachers: You might want to give Cat Tracks for those who actively participated and paid good attention. Thank you for your time!
