CCRS (Canada): Stable Routed stable -- direct peering between NISN and CA*Net3 in Chicago -- to CCRS via a 5 mbps access circuit. Business Hours Median (BHM) 3.3 Mbps China: START Regional Center No performance testing since 8/99 BHM performance was 18 Kbps Route now via AT&T, satellite -- APAN would be better CONAE (Argentina): Testing resumed 4-00 Thruput about 200 kbps via Telintar Was 20 kbps when last tested (‘96) CSIRO (Australia): no thruput testing since 2/99 Site Updates
DLR (Oberpfaffenhofen, DE): Route now via NY, TEN-155 to DFN Datasink stopped 7/99 -- will try to restart ESRIN (Frascati, IT): BHM dropped to 60kbps (was 80 kbps) typical range (BH) = 25-1600 kbps (was 30-650 kbps) Routing: ALTERNET - Dante (TEN-155) GARRnet (Milan)-ESRIN seems fairly stable -- fairly congested NASA switch to Abilene might help somewhat Eumetsat (Darmstadt, DE): Performance testing still not running -- will try again Now (as of 18 Jan 2000) using EU-Xlink via Qwest was NASA-ESOC dedicated circuit Hops 7->13, RTT 210 -> 110, Loss 3% -> 10% Site Updates
INPE (Sao Paolo, BR) : No testing since 8/98 Being reconfigured IRE-RAS (Moscow, RU): Via Internet -- Teleglobe, Relarn MIRnet is another possibility Sink down since 2/24 Small performance improvement 1 Jan 2000: BHM = 14 kbps, Daily range = 3 - 260 kbps Was BHM = 8 kbps, Daily range = 2 - 200 kbps Israel: Further improved performance Route change 16 March 2000: NASA peers with ILAN in Chicago Performance now 1.7 mbps -- but somewhat unstable Was about 100 kbps previously Site Updates (cont.)

Thailand (Sea Start) : Testing started 9-99 (FTP) -- Route improved 1-00 GSFC - >SeaStart : 1999: Median BH = 5 kbps, Typical daily peak = 186 kbps 2000: Median BH = 54 kbps, Typical daily peak = 136 kbps SeaStart-> GSFC Daily peak unchanged at 200 kbps, Median 10 - 50 Route via AlterNet-> NY, then Teleglobe via satellite Serious congestion Tokai Univ (Tokyo) : Testing started 9-99 (FTP) -- Results stable Typical range 40-375 kbps (median = 230 kbps) Route initially via SINET, now IIJ from MAE-W Site Updates (cont.)
UK Now testing to UCL and Oxford, from GSFC and JPL Via JAnet and NASA dedicated ATM (VC = 2 Mbps) JAnet peering in NY: GSFC via Alternet, JPL via Abilene NASA ATM: Steady -- BH: Median = 1.3 Mbps, Min = 1.2 Mbps JAnet: Congested: Max = 2.7 mbps, BH Median (via Abilene) = 500 kbps, (via Alternet) = 100 kbps, Min = 175 / 50 kbps. UNEP Now testing to 6 sites via Geneva to UNEP satellites: Geneva: 300-400 kbps Norway: 100-200 kbps Beijing: 60 kbps Bangkok two modes: 40 or 80 kbps Nairobi: 120 kbps Costa Rica: 90 kbps Site Updates (cont.)
